KI-46 Frozen Fern Kiln Ice Glaze Cone 5-6 Mid-Range Glaze by Amaco in 16-oz Pint Sized Container
Frozen Fern is a
muddled yellow-green hue.
The Kiln Ice
glazes are modeled after traditional Guan or Snowflake glazes.
They feature a
delicate network of fine hairline cracks (known as ?crazing?).
Kiln Ice glazes
are translucent, but become slightly opaque where the cracks form, creating a
beautiful, multi-layered visual texture.
Differences in glaze application and
firing technique may affect end results.
These glazes
are food safe, but due to durability, they are not recommended for food
surfaces.
Due to variations in raw materials used during manufacturing, we
recommend firing glazed test tiles before using each new batch number of glaze.
The Finished Pot pictured is shown using AMACO No.32 Dark Chocolate clay, fired to cone 5.
