PC-23 Indigo Float COMBINATIONS

PC-23 Indigo Float is a richly expressive glaze designed to create depth, movement, and tonal variation reminiscent of layered indigo dye. Firing at cone 5–6, this glaze is part of the Potter’s Choice line known for its interaction with form and texture rather than flat, uniform color.

Indigo Float typically develops a deep blue base tone that can shift in intensity depending on thickness. In thinner areas, it may appear slightly lighter or more translucent, while heavier applications encourage pooling and deeper saturation. This contrast between thin and thick application is what gives the glaze its “floating” visual effect.

On textured or carved surfaces, Indigo Float breaks beautifully over edges, revealing lighter accents that enhance dimensionality. This makes it especially effective for pottery where surface detail is an important design element. The glaze can also pool in recesses, creating darker, almost inky concentrations that contrast with lighter raised areas.
