Mayco Foundation Opaque Fn-036 Grape Glaze | Cone 06

Foundations Grape Opaque Glaze can easily be your foundation glaze for all of your ceramic projects.

It is Opaque, and it produces a solid opaque background when two or more good coats are evenly applied, it is lead free and non-toxic which means it is a very stable glaze that will not move in firing. So, even application with proper drying time is very important with this glaze.

You can easily apply Stroke & Coats or EZ strokes on top of a foundation glaze for beautiful design work with an opaque foundation background base color.

Foundations Opaque Glazes are Certified AP non-toxic and dinnerware safe.

Cone 06 oxidation: Produces a beautiful, smooth high gloss grape purple finish and can be intermixed for custom colors.

Cone 6 oxidation: Color fades. Breaks over texture.

General Use

Foundations gloss glazes were designed to mature at shelf cone 06/05. Apply 2-3 coats, allowing surface to dry in-between coats. When applying to a large surface, we recommend a broad, soft brush such as CB-604 #4 Soft Fan.

Foundations dry quickly for same day firing

Intermixable for custom color creation

Can be applied to green-ware or leather-hard clay. We recommend leaving an area unglazed, such as the back or bottom, to allow outgassing during the firing process

Many Foundations can be fired to higher temperatures and still maintain their color. Check the individual color label for performance at cone 6

Steadfast Application – Foundations will not dissolve or pick up previous coats of glaze

Dries Quickly – speeds up your ability to handle or perform additional decorating

High Gloss Finish- does not need to be clear glazed (except Foundations Matte glazes)
