Mayco Foundations Matte Glaze (FN-301 Marshmallow White) is the ideal base glaze for your ceramic projects.
These lead-free, non-toxic glazes are highly stable. They provide a consistent, solid matte finish when you apply two or more even coats.
Because these glazes remain stationary during firing, careful application and proper drying time are essential for the best results.
This matte glaze can serve as a canvas for decorative work. You can Apply Stroke & Coat or EZ Stroke glazes on top.
Fired Results:
• Cone 06: Produces a beautiful, soft white matte finish.
• Cone 6: The finish transitions to a glossy appearance.
General Use:
Foundations matte glazes are designed to mature at cone 06/05. Apply 2-3 coats, allowing the surface to dry between each layer. For large surface areas, we recommend using a broad, soft brush, such as the CB-604 #4 Soft Fan.
Helpful Hints:
• Foundations dry quickly, allowing for same-day firing.
• Many Foundations can be fired to higher temperatures while maintaining their color; please check individual labels for cone 6 performance.
• Steadfast Application: These glazes do not dissolve or lift previous layers.
• High Gloss Finish: Unlike other Foundations, our Matte glazes do not require a separate clear coat.
• All Foundation glazes are certified AP non-toxic and food-safe.
