Discover the beauty of Lapis Flow.  See why this remains a favorite among potters seeking that one of a kind glaze finish.  With Lapis flow you can create dramatic movement and vibrant color.  This is a popular Potter’s Choice glaze designed to produce rich, flowing blue tones with beautiful variegation.  Therefore, during firing you’ll find that this glaze develops captivating pools, breaks and layered effects that make every piece a unique work of art.  This glaze is ideal for use on mid-range clay bodies.  Lapis Flow performs beautifully at cone 5-6.  You’ll find that this glaze can be used alone, or layered nicely with other Potter’s Choice, Celadons and Satin Matte glazes.  The possibilities are endless.

When layered, this glaze may run, especially when paired with another runny glaze.  Its fluid nature creates dynamic surface patterns that add depth and visual interest to functional ware and decorative pottery.  It looks lovely over texture.  However, because this glaze flows during firing, the final appearance varies depending on application thickness, clay body, firing schedule and glaze combinations.  Allow extra clearance from kiln shelves when using heavier applications.  We recommend firing glazed test tiles before using each new batch number of glaze.  This glaze does come with a safety warning.  Due to variations in firing temperature and possible contamination, tableware producers must test all finished ware to establish dinnerware status.
