Derby the Horse

A horse is a horse of course, but when you add the rich hues of Concepts Underglazes® to Derby the Horse from the Duncan® Oh Four™ Tiny Tot collection he becomes a horse of a different color every time!

Instructions:

Wipe ware with damp sponge to remove any bisque dust.

Using pencil, lightly draw a line around the muzzle area of horse’s face above the smile indentation. Refer to photo.

Pour puddles of Light Pink, Light Grey, Dark Ginger and Dark Black on palette.

Using No. 4 Liner, paint two coats of Light Pink to inside ears and a couple strokes on the nostril area. Refer to photo. Let dry.

Paint three coats Dark Ginger to the horse’s body, avoiding the hooves and penciled off muzzle area. Let dry thoroughly between coats.

Using No. 1 Liner, paint two coats Black in nostrils, mouth and smile line. Paint two coats Black in eyes, leaving a comma shape of white for highlight.

Paint three coats Black to mane and tail. Let dry thoroughly between coats.

Paint three coats Light Grey to hooves. Let dry thoroughly between coats.

Apply a coat of Pure Brilliance™ Clear Glaze to white area of muzzle. Let dry. Brush a second coat over the entire horse. Let dry.

Stilt and fire to witness cone 06.
