Description

SW-512 CORAL GLOSS Stoneware
Gloss Glaze
Cone
6:
 Coral
Gloss is a glossy, opaque, vibrant coral glaze that is highly pigmented and
formulated for stable design work at midrange temperatures and above.

Cone 10: No
change. Glaze remains stable.

Stoneware Crystal glazes are
designed to expand upon the surface with dazzling bursts of color. Fired
results will vary based on ware’s orientation. Crystals will settle to the
bottom of the jar and will need a good mixing prior to initial use. Re-stir
between each coat. Stir with palette knife or other unpainted tool. Avoid
placing crystals near the bottom third of a vertical piece as they may cause
additional movement during firing. Crystals will flow more than the base glaze.
While the glaze is wet, use your fan brush to redistribute the crystals to
achieve balanced coverage. Over-application or heavy deposition of the crystals
can cause pin-holing or running. When storing a crystal glaze, you may consider
storing upside down to facilitate crystal dispersion on the next use.

General Use

Use
Mayco Stoneware Glazes on any midrange clay body. These glazes are intended for
use at cone range 4-6 but are also stable and pleasing at cone 10. Can be used
in oxidation, reduction or other alternative atmospheric firing conditions.
Always test prior to use.

For premixed products:

Stir
well. Apply to soft-fired bisque(cone 04/06). Apply one, two or three coats
depending on the result desired. Allow each coat to dry before applying the
next coat. Fire to cone 5/6.

Stoneware
crystal glazes

Our
Stoneware glaze palette includes four glazes that contain small pieces of glass
which create variegated color when fired. These glazes are beautiful by
themselves, blending and pooling naturally over the clay form.
